After several years of dithering and memorising routes I have finally conceded and bought a GPS unit. In anticipation of teething troubles I wonder if anyone remembers the name of the independent website that provided user advice.

Thanks every body. Rainmaker is v good but is essentially a product review with a v useful synoptic chart. The one I am trying to recall, but never used obviously, is rather like Scarletfire (thanks, jazzkat) with tips and tricks and "how to do it" hints. The name Fred keeps coming to mind.....
