Okay so this used to be on my touring bike but I thought I'd take it off and put on my new road bike. The one I have has a magnet on the wheel and one on the pedal. Now I still have the one on the wheel. However when I cut the cable tie to release the one on the pedal it flew off and I can't find it anywhere, and it's not for lack of trying either.

The pictures for the actual cadence sensor doesn't seem to show the pedal magnet;

Neither does the replacement magnet and cable tie set that you can buy;

So my question is, does the replacement pack actually have a pedal magnet? If not any suggestions of where I can get one without forking out circa £40 for another cadence sensor?

TIA

Email CRC and ask what's in the pack, if they say it's included then the pack turns up without one then you're covered by their reply email as far as getting your money back.

Or email Garmin and ask them - http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/site/us/support/supportcontact

I've bought this kit from Chain Reactions. It did come with the pedal magnet and the wheel magnet.

Get onto ebay and buy some rare earth magnets for pennies. Then if you have chromo pedal spindles just stick them in there. If not use a dot of silicon - no need for cable ties or ugly magnets on your crank arm. The rare earth magnets are stronger and much more discreet than the Garmin magnet.

Cheers all, I've ordered the replacement magnet kit rom CRC. I did look at ebay for rare earth magnets but there was so many different shapes and sizes I gave up looking.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner! I ordered a spare kit from CRC, but I've lost a 2nd magnet due to changing cranks and not sticking it on well enough. I've just ordered a magnet off a guy on ebay and it came the other day - you have to epoxy it to the crank arm but it's so small that it won't be an issue in terms of being a clumsy addition. It was only £2 posted so a lot cheaper than the Garmin spares kit.
