Garmin Edge 605 maps and software

I have an Edge 605 but althjough I got a cd with various manuals on I didn't get a Mapsource disc or software or I just can't find it. I have used Mapmyride but the gpx files that I download don't seem to align with teh garmins maps and I keep getting sent on 'U' turns. I have redad this problem on other topics listed on Cycle Chat. Question - how I get the Mapsource software or find it or get better mapping that I can download to my device.

There is a guy called Frank Kinlan who does an excellent guide to the Edge Series

Includes how to get free maps (Open Source) for use on the Edge

As for MapSource itself - it is not provided with teh units, but is a free download and the free maps also work on it!

Hence it is possible to get your computer set up with maps software, and your unit for free!
