Garmin Edge & Heart Sensors

I just bought a Garmin Edge Touring Plus and it won't recognise either of the heart rate bands I have. Does anyone know if the Garmin units only work with Garmin bands or something?

The Garmin works with any ANT+ HRMs.

You get blue tooth hrm's as well as Ant+ there will be other types as well.

Just checked the specs and it says that the transmission method is analogue...whereas ANT+ is a digital protocol so I guess that answers that one.

It lists most devices and the compatible ANT devices

Select the Brand, select the equipment and a window pops up with more details. THis window than has a button to "Show compatible devices" and does just that

For the Edge Touring Plus it lists 60 options from hats, activity trackers and at least 50 compatible HRM straps

Flip the strap over, on the sensor pod will be an Ant+ logo if its compatible.

Thanks for that - it wasn't compatible...I have one that is now.
