Aldi are doing the garmin 500 for £79.99 soon, so like me, they maybe seeing if they can get one of those.
If not, then I might be interested

But the Garmin does not offer map views etc. Does the touring give you the option to upload and then follow routes? I am interested.

Some Garmins do offer mapping, some don't. But all of them give you the option to upload routes to follow. It's just that the 500 is a breadcrumb trail, the Touring, full mapping. (as per the pictures in the first post)
HERE's a link to an in depth review of the Touring.

The touring is very similar to a car GPS. You can use several programmes to plot a route on your PC and then transfer them to the Touring. When you start your planned route it gives you turn by turn directions.

You can also plot a route directly onto the Touring and follow it just like a GPS with turn by turn directions.

For the life of me I cannot understand why they made the touring and the touring plus. The touring is the only model apart from the edge 200 that does not work with a heart rate monitor and speed/cadence sensor!!
