Garmin...question...cant figure out from FAQ at Garmin

I am trying to install USA navigator maps into my gpsmap60csx...hmm..not so simple it seems. Up comes a map of the states with maps for me to select to install. I choose the ones en route across and hit next...I get WARNING saying if i continue it will overwrite units that have a card in them...well my unit already has europe city nav maps in there on a small card. So I dont want to overwrite that card...so ..her eis nob question....am i right in thinking i need to go but another blank card to get th emaps into th egps unit? I didnt see that anywhere in garmin sales blub ....assuming thats what i need to do how big a card will i need for city usa maps? The install process was a nightmare...I still cant even see the maps in the laptop even...grey hairs are appearing

Looks that way. My Garmin Etrex overwrites the micro sd card, apparently the size of US City Navigator maps is 1.6GB so an 8GB card from amazon for £3.50 will sort you.

is it possible to export the waypoints from this google map somehow into garmin basecamp? If so how? I'm guessing I'd need to save the waypoints as a file then import it into basecamp...but how can I export the waypoints from this googlemap into a file on my c drive and in what format?

As for google I only use bikeroutetoaster so cant really help but hopefully someone else can. By the way that route looks fantastic...best of luck

Here is a roundabout solution to your problem.
I had problems with the same device and this is what I did.

I logged on to Geocaching.com and went into the GPS and technology section of their forum and asked my questions.

These guys use GPS on a daily basis and are happy to share their knowledge. All my GPS questions go to them and they are very quick to sort the problem out.

I just downloaded some transam gps files from aca site and managed to get them into basecamp...hopefully all i need do now is buy a card as above and export each route file into the gps 60 and pull up each route file as i ride. ...hope its that simple
