Gear indicator windows.

Any perceived CC wisdom about cleaning and clearing gear windows on Shimano or other shifters? Is it the same as with car frosted headlights?
Just bought a pair of s/h Tiagra 9 speed shifters and want to restore them if poss.

They say you can do it with brasso or tooth paste, never done it myself

…….or T-cut, car polish (Careful of getting any of these on the rubber shrouds), headlight restorer [T-cut version is ok and cheap enough] etc…..

A few layers of some decent car wax / paint sealant after: will lay down some UV inhibitors to slow it down happening again 👍
