The thing I dislike about Sir Bob is that he was a pish poor singer (in my opinion) and has suddenly become the elder statesman of 80's music all because of his BA profile. That and the fact that Midge Ure doesn't get much of the credit for BA, when, from what I read, he was the main player.

The latter comment must be taken in context. I am a Scot, albeit a well balanced one - I have a chip on both shoulders
Agreed!
The man is an attention seeking fud..
Oh and I have bags of chips on each shoulder:rolleyes:

I do see where you are coming from on this but then surely Sir Bob - Just play the game!

He's not Sir Bob, he's Robert Frederick Zenon Geldof KBE. He's Irish - we don't let those not of the Commonwealth be Sir

In an interview, when pressed on how much tax he actually paid, Geldof allegedly exploded. “I pay all my taxes,” he shouted. “My time? Is that not a tax? I employ 500 people. I have created business for the UK government. I have given my ideas. I have given half my life to this.”

Barnet,
On the radio yesterday there was a music journalist trying to defend the musicians/singers who are on the new B.A record, saying that they give up their time for free, so how much tax they pay, or not pay is irrelevant. As if a day in a recording studio is going to dig into their finances and cost these wealthy people a lot of wonga. I think not.

what is truly terrible is that in the winter of 2012-13 31,000 people died due to being in poverty and not being able to heat and eat. when is somebody going to rehash a song for raising funds to help those who again this winter will have to choose between heating or eating.

How about HMG providing the money [you could call it welfare] to support them and more... people buying an MP3 file that they won't listen to won't mind.... they've got the social will and the money.
