The poles on the Gelert Solo are very thin fibreglass (a diameter for which replacements seem unobtainable)
Go with aluminium poles every time.

I've brought Coopermans tent. Well will have done in two minutes time when I've sent the paypal payment off.

If I don't like the tent then I haven't lost much.

Thanks all.

This is a photo from a brief test in the back garden just to make sure I know how to put all this stuff together before I have to use it. I'm going to try it out tomorrow night somewhere in the peaks. I hope my new sleeping bags nice and warm!!

Everything packs up MUCH smaller than before. I've managed to fit everything in the bag on my trailer. Whereas before I couldn't get the sleeping bag or mat in there so I had to strap them to the handlebars of the bike / on the top of the trailer.

I'm almost tempted to try pulling the trailer with the fixie tomorrow, (I was planning to fit lower single speed gears before I attempted to pull the trailer with it).
