I saw the second half of it and enjoyed it. 1st single I bought, with my very own money was Follow You, Follow Me. I have a fair few Genesis albums in my collection.
Got the 'Live at Hammersmith' CD and DVD as a prezzy for Mrs R some months ago, as she is a fan of the early Genesis stuff. Watched the DVD with her and thought "That's actually bloody good". We bought the tickets before the DVD finished.
The first 5 albums I bought Trespass, Foxtrot, Nursery Crimes, Selling england by the pound, and The lamb lies down I think were the best. But, Then there were three was also quite good. It all went a bit Phil Collins after that.
Pre Collins Genesis were pretty good. For all that he can bang a bit of skin quite well, Collins is a smug egotistical tax dodger, this tarnishes any of his musical qualities for me.
There's a guy in our office who's mental for Genesis. My secret shame is my devotion to Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull, so were both shunned by our colleagues because of our old fart musical tastes.
I hate Genesis with a vengeance. Grr don't get me started. And Phil Collins is the only man who naturally looks like he has a stocking over his head, 1970s bank robber style. I simply couldn't understand how friends at school were wearing trench coats and listening to Genesis when there was all this punk going on. And I won't let it lie. I was right, they were wrong
I like to think Peter Gabriel was some how mocking a future Phil Collins, by shaving the only patch of hair that Phil actually had.
Either way, it's a wierd hair-do!
