I thought the first program of this series was especially so. Even the theme of the trip to Romania was a re-hash, never mind huge chunks of the script and individual jokes.
The car in a reasonably priced car has not only exceeded its sell by date but its best by date, eat by date and 'find something new to do' by date as well.
There is only so much self parody that can excuse JC. The others can do so much better and I think they know it. Will it be dropped or implode?
I agree James May could do loads more stuff. But I don't think it matters that TG is staged and predictable. It still makes me laugh, just like a good comedy you've seen dozens of times before does. The three of them provide such good foils for each other - even my Mum's started to say how funny it is!
Smeggers - serious car stuff? dear me how dull, especially the serious car stuff about performance cars with ludicrous pricetags. I say drop the 'serious' stuff and do an hour of arsing about.... Africa and Vietnam were brilliant.
