Yesterday's heavy rain was dramatic but it didn't match what I experience in 1968. I really thought that the world was coming to an end and I spontaneously started praying asking forgiveness for a long list of naughty things, real and imaginary, hoping that salvation would be offered to me seeing that I had repented.
The storm/deluge extended westwards from Teeside over Darlington and down south at least as far as Bradford. There was 1.1 inches of rain in ten minutes.
