no its like swallowing snot with a bad cold or having phlegm coughed up and it gets stuck in your mouth . nasty stuff . love cheese

It's a bit more complicated than that...
The best way with aubergines is to grill them over the gas. Leave them, turning occasionally so that the skin doesn't burn too much, until they've gone squishy, then mash and mix with other flavourings - I'm quite partial to mixing with some tomatoes and some roasted peppers (prepare like the aubes, then put in a bag until coolish before rubbing off most of the burnt bits and taking out the pips).

troislegumesmcginty wants to eat them - not ponce about with them and drink a beer as consolation! And, pepper pips are good for you...fully scorched and bitter...like the correspondents on the 'Beer' thread.

blend the eggplant with tahini, lemon juice, garlic and salt, and you have baba ganoush. Yum
