getting a refund from online shops

I finally got the refund today. The e-mail replies I eventually received from the shop suggested that the delay had been a problem caused by all the extra Christmas orders. Even though having to wait this long for the refund has put me off ever ordering from this shop again, it would be unfair to name them as I genuinely believe their explanation that Christmas orders meant they were extremely busy.

How long did it take from returning the goods to getting the refund?
