Just got my credit Card bill and noticed a £49 payment for using Amazon Prime ( the delivery within 24 hours option) They had a free month test period and it seems that because I didnt actively cancel the "subscription" then the bill was automatic. At least thats how I think it happened, like a fool I couldnt have read the small print properly. Anyway if anybody else makes the same mistake then ring 0800 496 1081 and they'll refund in full. It seems they've been overwhelmed with aggrieved customers

How much does it cost to Oldham?
Yeah I set myself a reminder to cancel it before the due date. Probably not that bad a service if you buy a lot of gear off amazon though.

Happened to me a year or three back and Amazon refunded quickly.

Since then I bought an expensive item on their CC intro offer and got a 9 months loan interest free  . Had to be very careful to ensure all the payments were made on time.

Yes I use Amazon a lot and have been tempted to sign up, but as I'm a true born Yorkshireman* I opt for the free extremely slow Royal Snail delivery every time it's an option.

* Think Scotsman without the traditionally assumed open handed generosity.

Always go for Royal Mail delivery, self interest in it  have to say not so slow in my neck of the woods. Always delivered with in the 3-5 days as advertised.

Spanners were invented to removed 50 pence pieces from Yorkshiremen`s hands!

and thats according to my neighbour who hails from Yorkshire.

as piemaster said. i personally don't bother with any of these, even things like free spotify premium, because i don't want the hassle of having to remember to cancel it…

Just cancel them instantly. That's what I did with spotify trial.

I keep cancelling and redoing one of my magazine subscriptions which is 3 months for 3 quid, rather than pay £20 for 6 months
