Getting dazzled by lights, not by drivers...

... but a local council. I rode through Barton this morning on a, only to discover it's a no-go area at night! What a total hash they've made of the street lighting, it's no better than before for visibility of the road & pavement. The problem is the lights are bright white, bright enough to cause green patches in my vision. When I came to the end of the new street lights I had to stop & regain my night vision before continuing. :cursing:

Well done which ever council put those in, you've made the roads more dangerous!:banghead:

I guess they must be LED lights? For some reason many of us hate LED lights, and find them much more blinding than halogens. I wonder if it's a combination of the frequency and the flashing?

The other thing is these lights you can see the actual light source a far distance off. There are some white sodium street lights near to my home & they're much better because they have the light source burred deep in the lamp & so there's no central bright spot to wreck your vision.
