I am planning to go from Romford to Maidenhead by Elizabeth Line next week (free with my Freedom Pass). What are the cycle spaces like. I will have to change at Farringdon.
I've not been on the trains, but my understanding is that the design is similar to the London overground rather than a traditional tube train. Not sure what else they'd have other than tip up? I'm sure there's a YouTube vid by some geek walking through a Betty Line train!

Otherwise you could pedal across town from Liverpool St to Paddington
https://cycle.travel/map/journey/18801 still works AFAIK. You could do it 5 mins faster and slightly shorter via Russell Square (or City/Euston/Marylebone Roads if you really want a horrible time car-jousting), but not nicer IMO.
