I know since taking up cycling again, I am losing weight and getting fitter.
The last time I was at the hospital I was disappointed to find that although my clothes are looser, the scales said I'd put on a kilo  (consultant wants me at a certain weight before he'll do my op)
My husband said it's okay because it's probably muscle and we all know muscle weighs heavier than fat, right?

Well this morning I was warming some milk in the microwave. I'm wearing lounging about clothes - some stretchy gym bottoms (tight fitting) and a fleece sweatshirt. I squat a little as the microwave isn't at eye level, and put my hands on the front of my thighs to steady myself.
I can actually feel toned muscle! :hyper:
So I'm just frozen there, grinning like a looney, feeling my new found muscles.
My daughter wanders through (up early for a riding competition) and just stares at me...

Her: "Erm mum....are you okay?"
Me: "Yip! I am just feeling myself here"...
Her: "Whatever turns you on!"
:giggle:

Thats the cycling effect, you loose weight to start with then you start gaining weight because of the muscle you are putting on, as roadrider said you can find yourself with trousers that will fit at the waist but won't go over your thighs, I stopped buying tight fitting trousers years ago, they have to be loose fitting, the effect is made worse by riding fixed regularly.
And good luck with the op, I hope it's all straight forward.

I had to do the same with the last pair of jeans I bought.

I am a 32/34 waist, but had to get a 36 because squatting in the gym has put weight on my hips and arse.

And before anyone says it I'm not shaped like Jessica Rabbit.

Same as me. I am a 34" waist, but have to buy 36" because of thighs.
