Getting married in Kos, thoughts on hiring a bike.....

Like the title says, im getting my ball and chain in Kos next may, thinking of loading greek maps in my garmin, and nicking off for a couple of days. Kos is only 278km2...... you can hire good mtbs over there with spds the lot. was thinking of taking a tent and exploring......only thing is....I will be alone, because none of my party cycle. Whats peoples thoughts

I think if you are planning on buggering off on a bike with a tent on your honeymoon, maybe you should rethink the wedding!

I can understand that it's a great opportunity to venture out while your in Kos, but i don't think it's very fair on your intended or guest. Surly they will expect you to be joining in with them instead off peeing off on your own!
Maybe you could arrange a day out on mtb's for your guest etc to try cycling out?

I have a similar problem next year, I'll be in France on a course for a week but want to extend it into a holiday with the OH. I really want to do a few days cycling but he doesn't enjoy it like I do, so I think my only options are to go a few days early instead and cycle alone, or not bother with cycling. It's unfair to expect people to use their holidays to fit around your plans, holidays are precious things and at the end of the day spending time with my OH is more important than me cycling. And if it's a wedding holiday, then you're being pretty selfish in my opinion. Put your wife first.

my wife to be doesnt mind. she knows its something that i like doing. and at the end of the day...its not very often i get chances like this to do things like this....is there any difference than say going on a fishing trip for the day that i know she wouldnt go on.
