Getting ready for the darker nights/mornings. This is the rear light set up so far, considering some 50mm reflective red tape on the rear pannier, but not sure if it will look tacky?

I think you are visible from the rear, those lights are bright. But for visibility from the sides, how about spoke reflectors? You can get them from Halfords very cheap and they are extremely bright. I will try to post a pic or two of them later on.

The Brompton has Marathons with reflective sidewalls . The Voyage has wheel reflectors

BTW your signature.

I doubt you could make the copyright bit stick, unless you could prove your text was an original work of art, and even if you could infringment of copyright is a civil tort and there could be no "prosecution". You could sue for "damages" but that would be as much as you could do.

what percentage of accident are caused by collision from the rear or side on?

in my experience it's usually someone getting in the way in front, or plain and simple not taking me into account when they carried out their manouvre

a decent bright lights that's big enough is enough at the rear imho, spend money on something proper big and bright on the front and, deep breath, something high viz/reflective on your body, the reflective bands I see on riders' ankles are very good

and for people with drops, the bar end lights really catch the eye

Front is not a problem B&M IQ Cyo on both bikes , plus cheaper LED flashers.

Most of the winter will be wet in Wales so the Altura waterproof covers the Flour/Reflec bit

I was wondering about the bar end lights/reflectives, any idea where I can get em?

Bar end lights - the usual places - I blame Wiggle.

My backup Raleigh dual 1/2 watt has passed away - it's the second one I've had (first replaced under warranty) as it 'hissed it down' on friday. Despite extra tape to seal it, it got very slightly damp inside and it's now not working properly. Despite being bright, these things are rubbish in any rain.

On went two spare Smart Superflashes (along with the two Magicshine 818's).
