Right leg over, Clip in right 1st and lead off with the right foot.
I'm right handed but kick a ball with my left foot and shoot left handed with a bow.

It's best to experiment with different positions. Keeps it interesting.

My boyfriend is left-handed and I am right-handed. We definitely unclip with opposite feet - I unclip my left and he his right (first down-stroke with your dominant foot, I assume). However I think he gets on his bike from the left (i.e. non-chain) side - also since he was born and grew up in Austria the "side of the road" argument above doesn't work... I'll have to watch him next time, I've never really noticed.
(How much material have I provided for Fnaar and tyred, I wonder....)

Weird, I push my bike so it rolls away, quickly open my front door and run up the stairs. Open the window, swan dive out, land perfectly on the bike and of I ride..............

I was considering attempting a mount by jumping from the top of the wardrobe but I guess my aim would need to be good.

I guess it boils down to being on which side of my bike I'm standing at the time. I seem to find it easier to get on from the right side of my bike ... though don't have a problem doing it from the left hand side, so if I'm standing on the pavement when I'm getting on then it's the left side. (Unless I'm feeling creaky around the hips then it is definitely easier getting on from the right hand side - but that only tends to be in winter time, which feels a long way off at the moment!).
