Is the tunnel through a granite outcrop ?
Trying to recall my 40 year old Geology O level , but I think Igneous rocks sometimes have magnetic properties.

The penny only dropped a few days ago, it`s been happening for ages but I hadn`t taken too much notice of it until I pinned it down to this bloody tunnel!!

Might explain a lot of the goings on in that video I found then. Funny how it happens in this one and not the other though, I know they are 5 miles apart, but both on the Dartmoor boundary and built of the same stuff, perhaps one went through granite and the other just earth? Don`t know...........

Tunnel around 150 years old?

Similar one nearby. 400 yards in any portable electric lighting will go dead. Something to do with the rocks and method of construction used in the tunnel.

They're looking to reopen it to foot and bike.
