As some of you will know - I have been searching for a Giant TCR Avanced 1 (2013 specifically) in M/L frame size.

I have tracked down a couple M/L that fit my budget & finance needs.

Now I have another problem - I have also found a 2012 model that I like which is £400 cheaper but is listed as having Ride Sense but Not Ride Sense Ant + as the 2013 version does.

Does anyone out there know the difference ?

If you do - post answers here please.

Cheers Dudes & Dudesses.

I have no idea but to try and shed some light on the question . Ride sense are the components Giant supply . Ant + is the 2.4G wireless transmission .
Maybe Ride sense works on Bluetooth or a wired connection to a cycle computer ?
I could of course be totally wrong . If I remember I will ask when I go to the Giant shop . Ive not been in there for a few days so it wont be long

If the ride sense is integrated into the bike and it doesn't do what you want I would think you could just swap it over for the ANT+ ride sense . They are a stock item in my local Giant shop and they also do one that clips on if the bike isn't ride sense ready . I was thinking of getting one to put on the Defy .
As I don't use a heart rate monitor all my ride sense ANT+ is used for is cadence as the Garmin does the speed .

Cheers chap.

I have a mate who has a mate who is general manager of his dads The Giant Store @ Liverpool so I will run it by him also.

The £400 saving (although lower spec with 105 instead of Ultegra) would be a great help of I won't miss Ant +.

Also out of interest - am I right in thinking that you can only use Giant stems on Giant bikes due to the 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 steerer ?

The ANT+ I was going to use on the Defy is £25

I think the saving is more on the group set but im not technical enough to answer questions on that . I just like Giant bikes ^_^
With the trouble im having finding a white seat post clamp for the TCR I would guess that everything is Giant specific . I did have a look at their carbon stem £160 and it looked rather fat and ugly to me . Im told the saving over the stock stem is 5 grams . I think cocaine is cheaper

Cuchilo - Re the seat clamp.
An idea is to take it to one of those places that re-furbishes alloy wheels.

Ask them to powder coat it any colour you like.

Wheels typically costs £50 each so they will probably do it for £10 - £15.

Thought about having mine anodized in red.
