Off topic, so apologies, but it occurred to me that "giant savings" now has three meanings...

Is it savings for tall people, or savings that are huge. Or savings on the bike make...? Life was easier before cycling, when there were only two...

I was going for the dual purpose Giant Brand and big savings - other sizes are available and I don't think purchasers are required to meet a minimum height!

I bought my wife the Giant Liv Rove 3 from Rutland a few months ago when it was marked from £400 to £275. At my last check it was £250.

It's a great bike, very light. Showed it to a friend who was looking new bikes for him and the wife and they ended up buying it too after riding it. Service from Rutland was spot on too.

Does anyone have experience of the Defy 5 (or similar) out of interest?

I had a rear rack on my 2012 avail. bikes can easily take a rack even if they have no lugs, p clips do the trick as on my Planet X here. Fine as long as aluminium and not carbon stays

Aluminium Defy and Avail models
come with mudguard and rack mounting lugs as standard.;)
I'm not sure the higher up models have lugs. The 1 hasn't for a while. Would need to check them out

None on the 2015 defy 2 if pic is accurate

Maybe it's just the lower range ones then? The Defy 5 certainly has mountings for mudguards and a rack. It looks like the 1 and the 2 are using a different frame to the 3, 4 and 5. In which case, I would say that the 3 and the 4 will take both a rack and mudguards. Looks like the higher end models had a new frame from 2015, but the original frame was retained for the lower models.
