Hello folks,

I just purchased a Giant Defy 1 and a torque wrench along with it. I'm trying to find the torque 'values' for the seat post clamp, which are not on the clamp itself. There's a couple of numbers on there, but I'm not sure what they are- they are 'Max 45kg-cm' and 'Ø 35'

The seatpost is a Giant Connect Composite. Any help would be appreciated.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
I would think the '45kg-cm' must be the max torque value = 4.4 N-m (http://www.convertunits.com/from/kg-cm/to/N-m)
and the 'Ø 35' the seatpost clamp size - 30.9mm dia seatpost?

Ah, so that's what it is! I gave the Giant store in Rutland a call as well to check, and they said "up to 5nm", which is what I originally dialled in.

Do you think the .5 increase will affect the seatpost too much? I'm using a 5Nm torque key which clicks at that amount.
