Finallt decided I shall never throw myself down a mountain, and so decided to make the mtb more rideable on a day to day basis.
So off with the nasty Suntour XTC suspension forks, off with the 26x1.7'ish semi slicks, and on with a Salsa CroMoto front fork, and a pair of Continental SportContact 26x1.3's.
The toughest part was cutting the steerer tube down, sheeeesh 8 hacksaw blades bit the dust!!!
But all done, have taken it for a little spin and it is much smoother, much lighter/friskier feeling and definitely a fair bit quicker.
Very pleased with the transformation - time to put the rack back on now.
