I've got an Escape M0. Only bike I've got so gets used for everything, mostly utility/commuting type stuff, which is what the Escape series is intended for, but I have done a 50 mile ride on it and regularly do 20-30 mile rides, including a few hills but I mostly ride in the east coast flatlands.
You might be better off looking at the CRS range, more towards a flat barred road bike,if you are just going out for rides on it. Link
