No experience of either I'm afraid but I'd make a few observations based on the specs.
I'd say the suspension fork has little merit taking into account the extra weight and expense.
If you are planning a lot of touring the Giant would be perfect with its supplied racks (not sure if included), the only downside might be the very fat tyres which will be comfortable on rough terrain but slow you down considerably on tarmac. You can of course swap them out.

BTW welcome to the forum.

Hi there

I'm looking to purchase a bike which is good for cycling on country roads but also for going across back roads such as farm tracks and gravel tracks.

The Cube cross pro and Giant toughroad both look good options.

As a bike novice I'm just wanting to check if anyone has experience of either models and if the specs of one is better than the other.

thanks
If you are spending £1100+ you could get something much lighter, ie. 9.3kg

I'm not normally a fan of suspension forks, but at least the one on the Cube is a RockShox.

It's also a 'light' short travel one, which is appropriate for the bike.

Do you think you will use the front rack on the Giant?

You would struggle to fit one on the Cube.

That @wafter review is an all time classic :okay:

Did he finally get one?

I'd lost track.

Back on topic, it looks like the OP wants to carry luggage which all but rules out plastic bikes.
