My one regret from the series is that Dave Allen never appeared in it
Whether he was offered a part, & refused, I have no idea??

I heard an interview with the Irish comedian Asling Bea.

She first discovered Father Ted on a student exchange visit to the U.K. and it had a huge impact on her as apparently it wasn’t shown in Ireland when it was first broadcast. Ireland only had 3 channels of local TV so she had never seen Irish people make comedy about the Catholic Church.

That's a genius clip from the best episode of the show. Then final scene is even better.
