Anybody watching this on Eurosport? It's Stage 3 today. A murderous climb; The Punta Veleno.
@ 10km. Short 3% sections at start and end with massive 13%-17% 7km in the middle.

Just watched a clip on youtube of Punta Veleno. Ouch! Imagine what Pozzovivo will be like when he grows up!

Welcome to Italian racing....a lot of the climbs are old drover passes with a tarmac top (crumbled), hence steep, narrow and horrible. Descents a bit, er, technical, and you don't see too much of it on TV necause the motos have hells own job staying with the riders, just too tricky. Hated 'em (the climbs and descents, not the motos). Give me strade bianchi anytime, even with the dust.
Or better still Belgium, even if the weather is grotty.
