Megashark vs Giant Octopus
Classic!. Worth watching for the scenes where the shark takes out a plane and a bite out of the Golden Gate Bridge (I kid you not!!).

On a more serious note, some really scary good SF: Quatermass and the Pit (1967) Hammer films version. Watch in a dark room, by yourself
