Or that frigging lark going up.chap said:Classic FM is that everything is so fleeting; Elgar rules the waves; and all the callers seems to either be students revising for their exams, or middle aged folk that own and permanently reside in their conservatories.
Presenter: Next caller!
Caller: Yes, I'm Middle-aged Chap, I'm listening to you on the radio whilst doing the gardening in my conservatory...do you have any Elgar?
Presenter: Yeah, let's go nuts, how about...Pomp ad Circumstance![]()

It used to be one of my favourites but it got a bit overexposed.Arch said:No no! That's one of my favourites. Does that make me so very shallow?![]()
Shaun said:I've listened to radio 4 in the car for more years than I care to recall, but the car battery went flat about a month ago and I subsequently found I'd lost the radio code. Anyway I've been without the car radio/CD ever since and at first it was a pain, but now I really do NOT miss having the radio (or music) in the car.

I can't do it myself but what Cassic FM needs is someone to ring in and ask for Magnus Lindberg's "Graffiti for Chorus and Orchestra".

Glow worm said:Or Slipknot. It's a constant battle in this house between Classic FM (Mrs G) and R4/5/ or the odd pirate for me. With Classic FM it's all that 'Beryl's on the M4 and she'd love to hear some Elgar' crap- and 'Brian's on the M6 - he really likes Beethoven'. If you turn the volume down you can actually hear the composers spinning in their graves.
