I have sent my views to both GMTV and LV on this bizarre load of rubbish. I would say its a good idea that as many others do the same.

I did say to LV something along the lines of ...well done, add to the problems... why dont you try and help by offering free cycling lessons and cover cyclists on car insruance!? (I put it up on the bikerader site)

I have seen a couple of others now say they'd like to cancel their policy with LV as a result. Seems like an ad stunt gone wrong to me. Perhaps someone in authority (ASA or trading standards) would like to take this in hand..?

I hate GMTV with a passion.
The last thing I saw on there which made me furious was Ben Shepard moaning to the British Gas Chairman that people couldn't afford to heat their homes and some were having to wear jumpers ! Jumpers FFS !!
People are losing their jobs and the crisis on GMTV is having to wear a jumper in your own home !!

Anyway now onto the Cycling.

Usual comments from the brain drained women that watch it. The same bunch of women who I shall be dodging 20 minutes later on my ride to work as they tootle around in their mini's to travel the distance of 2 miles to work.

I love the Car VED Tax comment - Always a comment made by the moronic of people who show a complete ignorance to anyone not travelling in a car.

I have yet to have this comment but my reply will be my Car is in Band F so I will no doubt be paying more "Tax" then you. And if I do manage to find a bit of spare cash and lost control of my senses buying an 09 Model in march would cost me £550 in Tax !

Its not a popular view, bt I do think cyclists should have to learn road safety. It should be taught and covered under the National Curriculum, and then tested as a part of the driving test.

Sure that doesn't cover everyone, but it would be a start. And no, I don't suggest that people should start having to have cycling licences or any crap like that - but it would help to teach new drivers to pay respect to other road users thus maiming two sparrows with a pebble.

Thanks. I know, i couldn't cycle to work today so I have to come 2nd class (van) which put me in a bad mood!

Although I did forget my punch line at the end. "Carless Cyclists.... quite possibly!" Oh the day just gets worse!

Please don't think I was having a pop at you. It's worth saving this sort of stuff for when it can make a difference.

When I first read it, I was tempted to look up the ratio for motorised vehicle/cycle incidents where the driver is to blame. But then I thought it's GMTV, I'm busy at work (also in a mood!) and all these comments make me want to do is declare that it's all up with humanity and time to give the rats and cockroaches a shot at dominant species. I also thought Origamist would be on this like a randy beagle with his magic library of bike stats, so why should I bother.
