Ok, well, your first 'helpful' comment was:

Stamps are available from a wide variety of retailers, not just post offices......

The online postage stuff is really intended for customers who are sending multiple items- eBay sellers and the like. If you want a stamp or a book of stamps then you're better off buying at the counter.

Thanks. That's really helpful. I want to know why I can't buy something online without having to jump through hoops, and you tell me I can buy it at a newsagent, oh, and by the way, the website's not meant for people like you, who want to buy something from us, it's meant for other people, who want something else.

Well hey, thanks for the help!

Sine then, pretty much every post you've made has been about how you guys are great. At no point have you addressed the fact that I wanted to buy something from your organisation, and your organisation made it such a pain that I ended up having to go to a post office. Nope. You've just kept telling me how rude I'm being, and that your organisation is full of great guys.

In other words, you haven't 'helped' me in the least, or even tried to. All you've done is to display 'the mindset of a '70s public sector monopolistic organisation': this is how we do it and if you don't like it, you can fark off.

You do appreciate, don't you, that that is the definitive hallmark of that mindset - the inability to take on board valid feedback and respond helpfully, rather than dig your heels in, insisting 'no - we're right: and if you don't like it....'

Do remind me: at what point exactly were you 'helpful'?

@StuAff to be fair, the combined customer experience of Royal Mail and the Post Office can be fairly horrific. I too have money sat in an account that will not get used. This is because, like others I have found the experience far worse and more expensive than the competition. It is nice to see you defending your company, but surely even you can see that forcing a minimum amount to put into an account is going to annoy customers?

And, of course, that money is earning interest for the company holding it.
