That is a mis-quote phrase, originating in psychology, often taken out of context.

Rather like people use the work "ego", without actually knowing what it means in the true Freudian sense!

The only one that really bugs me is "synergies" - and they use it in meetings conducted in French and Dutch as well - ugh!

"So, who we merging with then?" is all I say when that word comes up.

Unfortunately I've been right the last two times.

The latest phrase that's become standard here in the last 3 or 4 months is "across the piece".

"We're looking at rolling this out across the piece."
"Across the piece, we have about a dozen."

Why has this replaced "Across IT" or simply "across the department"?

And everything has now become a 'Tower': "In the Build and Change Towers", where tower replaces the simple word 'area'.

Surely he means we've all got to come 'clean' on the matter with no fixed ideas on how it should turn out. Either that or his secretary is wearing too much slap.

They love the phrase 'bottoming out' where I work ''let's wait and bottom that out next week''- sounds grim and painfull to me.

They love 'flagging up' as well. Everything has to 'flagged up'.

Everthing also has to be 'sustainable' despite the fact that most of'em drive half a mile to work. I love being lectured on sustainablilty by these lazy lard arses.

And apparently I don't have a desk anymore. It's a fecking 'work station' FFS.

Lots of sentences starting with the most pointless phrase 'I have to say' Grrrrrrrrr!
