Somebody was telling me it is possible to swallow a goldfish, regurgetate it, and it will still be living.

Is this possible?

and is this morally wrong?

Given that it would spend some time enveloped in your stomach acid, it would, i'm sure, be perfectly possible. Quite why anyone would want to would be the next question of course, but then people buy James Blunt albums don't they!

It should be, depending on how long for.

Obviously stomach acid is corrosive stuff so it wouldn't live long, although it would probably suffocate first.

Might not though if the gills stay wet enough (they don't actually need to be in water to breathe, just kept very wet)
Post event; shock, gill damage or fungus disease would be it's demise I'd think but I'm no vet

One of my fish lived for 3 years without food or water change outside through ice and snow...I think if you had swallowed it it would have been swimming around your toilet bowl 5 hours later

Did you know, technically, fish never die from old age. In theory, fish could live forever as they don't have an ageing process...however, they usually catch some disease or get eaten...which is why they die.

what neglect the fish?...I didnt know it was there. I thought they had all died, so just left the tub there for 3 years..as u do...then when I got the gardening bug I cleaned it out an dfound it still in there
