After a £90 garage bill for my van I got home to a nice new FSA wheelset from winstanley cycles, no sooner had I got them unwrapped a knock at the door, my carbon forks have arrived too.
Fitted my new waiting tyres to the rims and gave them a spin, the rear spun super smooth, couldn't feel a thing, spun the front wheel and it felt like the hub was full of gravel !!!! Rang the shop and they are collecting the wheel Tuesday then sending new wheel out once they have examined it.
Now my forks, unwrapped them only to find 2 visible nicks/chips so have sent an email to the supplier, I am going to keep them as they are not too bad just not expected from brand new forks.
So.... out I went to fit the new forks, cut the steerer to length fitted everything up and then SNAP !!! sheared a bolt from the stem which has now rendered it useless as theres no way of removing the stub.
A good excuse to now buy my carbon stem but means riding around on a stem that's 40mm too short until the new one arrives..........
God I love this cycling lark ^_^

I have read somewhere, many times in fact, that cycling is cheap form of transport. This has thus far not been my experience, I feel your pain.
