There was an unprecedented run on tickets for Take That this morning. I'd thought about participating in a bit of scalping i.e. buy tickets and sell them on at a profit on the secondary market on sites like Viagogo but I decided not to. At 09:01 a minute after sales had started, a colleague rang me and asked if I could access the ticket site as he couldn't and his wife was relying upon him to buy some tickets. By 9:03 I had four for for him and the money was in the process of being transferred to my account.

Twenty minutes later I checked on the progress of another colleague who is a Take That fanatic and found that she'd not managed to gain access to the completion of transaction page and was distraught. Her husband and his office staff were also trying on her behalf to get tickets and were getting nowhere. Three or four minutes later I'd managed to purchase four tickets for her.

At ten o'clock I thought of yet another colleague who'd mentioned that she was going to get some tickets for herself and her daughter as a Christmas present. Rang her and woke her up - she'd had a heavy night and was convinced that she'd missed the boat. She tried accessing the ticket sites and failed miserably. Five minutes of activity at my computer and the third transaction was complete.

Looking at the Viagogo web site, the tickets are now selling at around £135. The purchase price was £60 inc booking fee. There's lots of blocks of eight - the maximum available per person for sale.

I could have made a killing had I been motivated enough.

I'm happy enough have three happy colleagues.

I got up early, went downstairs and bought two papers, delivered them to my two sisters by 06:30 - no big deal - just a nice wake up for them...Rode to work in the balmy (what a beautiful morning for riding) nothingness of the A5 etc, Popped into a shop and bought £7.50 worth of odds and gave £20. The cashier returned £17.50 and was puzzled that I just stood there...and then the penny dropped for her. And I have just bought the girl here some lunch!
Karma vernon, and the way it operates is good - karmachanics.
The day is young - time for lots more good things yet.

Creep!

Amazing how many people I work with had their phones glued to their ears this morning. No one seemed to listen to the idea that they should wait a few days until more shows are announced and pick up better tickets, much easier at that time. You just can't explain that there are many more shows already booked into venues, but they withhold them in order to create a stir and get more media attention.

Some people have the ticket skills and some don't. I've ended up buying lots of Leeds Festival tickets for other people over the years because they just don't have the mad skillz like wot I hav. Innit.

How prophetic!

My son has just had it confirmed that the band that he plays in will be the support act for a Blockheads gig in Sevenoaks. He's like a dog with two tails.

The blockheads are a great band, took my son to see them a couple of years ago. He thought the bass player was brilliant.

Keep 'em coming.
Lidl gave me £3 change from a fiver this morning instead of 30p. So I checked my till receipt, pointed it out and gave the £3 back.
The punter behind me was baffled - "Waddya do that for, they would never have noticed!"
I reminded him that in many supermarkets any till shortages come out of the employee's wage.
"Not here, mate," said the lad on the till "..and they would never have noticed!"

Exactly. And karmachanics is heading your way - well done.

I've tried to get some good karma going in the last few months, feels good and you get nice surprises.

Like the next bit of karma for today.....

Front row seats for the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain gig next October in York. My pals will be pleased when I break the news.

They are brilliant - I'd love to see them.
Frankly though, if Take That were doing a gig in my back garden I'd shut the f*cking curtains.
