Good idea for pump location?

16g of CO2 won't blow a Brompton tyre off the rim, unless it's the old 28mm Stelvio, in which case you are pushing your luck.

Did you ever try this seatpost pump yourself in practice?

I did on mine. It was brilliant. Easily achieve high pressures as it was almost like a track pump. Had little fold-out flaps that you could stand on to pull up against, and pushed down on the seat.

That said, I'm pretty sure it added a fair bit of weight.

Interesting. My mileage was different, but my personal experience with this pump has been very limited. But I got confirmed by people who had more experience with the pump, so the experiences seem to differ.
