I went to an appointment with the consultant at Reproductive Medicine, Charing Cross Hospital, 24 years ago. I was told that my spermatozoa were entirely sluggish due to reckless lifestyle choices. (By some miracle, the little blighters finally got their act together, due to no efforts on my part, and our daughter was born eighteen months later.)
While waiting to see the consultant, a couple who had dwarfism went in to see him, and I realised that even if we couldn't have children, I should count my blessings.
