Hope to get back into long distance touring. I have an old but beautiful 1986 Motobecane Grand Tourer that has been all over N America & Europe. It has been moth balled for years. I am thinking of updating the groupset etc from the original Huret friction style. What did you think? Feasible or should I let the old girl be?

It obviously brings you a lot of treasured memories, if it is old and beautiful, why update?

Since I believe it has a steel (Vitus 888?) frame all sorts of updates are feasible, but an update is not necessarily an upgrade. Modern components are everywhere, but they don't make vintage bits any more, do they?
