Good year for plums?

Don't some plants need a cold snap to perform well? (or rather the fruit is a responce to a cold winter...)

Yes, summer fruits like to have a rest during winter and a cold snap helps them 'hibernate' but it doesn't mean they all prefer a winter like UK's last one!

Loads of apples on our tree (not plumbs) .........lots of apple crumble coming up !

Not necessarily that unusual. Depends on age and pruning, amongst other factors.

Thanks for that info, I'm not sure if it will ever have been pruned. I'll suggest they look into it.
