Just don't wander into it without having a little cogitate on why Google are supplying all this stuff FOC.
Not out of philanthropy, certainly. They make squillions out of advertising. My point is that I either block the adverts or ignore them, so they don't actually make any money out of me.

But FireFox is a better browser.
Well, I'm not convinced. I do use Firefox for several applications - for instance, I run Wikis from it - and it is better featured and more customisable, but for day to day surfing of my main sites Chrome is perfectly adequate and significantly quicker.

So all your bluster about me saying "be careful" (a play on Google's own "Don't be evil" line, BTW) was so that you can say "I am". Congrats.

Well following this thread's arrival, downloaded chrome and have used it for the last couple of days. So far I am quite impressed. I was finding that Firefox was becoming unstable and was crashing every 2-3 days. So far so good for Chrome. IE has improved in recent months but I was keen to use an alternative. So thank you for highlighting this browser.

We've been using Chrome for a while now and after an upgrade went back to Explorer temporarily and I hated it ... back on Chrome again and using their mail and calendar features too.

I use Chrome at home and FF at work, love both of them.
Chrome is faster, but more basic - e.g. no noscript, no flashblock.
Chrome is great if a tabbed page crashes because just the tab crashes, not all of them.

Well, I don't want either of us to come across as Mr Grumpy, Norm - we shall have Greedo complaining. ;)

As I read your posts, you were against Google because you felt they were somehow underhand about their business model. My point was that they didn't strike me as any different from other software businesses in that respect and with the use of Adblock etc there isn't really any reason to turn your back on Chrome, which is a cracking bit of kit. If that is bluster, it isn't meant to be.
