Mancunian in self imposed exile in leafy Cheshire
My favourite time of year, cool morning commutes, big lights on all the time, empty bike racks
We wait with baited breath to hear if your bike is in those racks. You have another 1625 miles to do this year. ;)

Just looked and I have something like 43 working days left until the end of the year, if I cycled every one of them that would be approximately 770 miles, think I need to pull something out of the bag to hit that ridiculously high target

As soon as the clocks go back I cant cycle through Greenwich Park as they close the gates at 6pm, and that's my favourite bit of the ride.
If I drive in Greenwich park is my walking route back (I come down Maze Hill by bicycle, puts me on the right side of work for parking the bike) and they didn't seem that tight on the 6pm closure time last year. I presume you come out by the deer park gate, isn't the main route open later (as a get out if the deer park gate is shut.)?

I get to the park at about 6.30pm, and the last thing I want to do is get in and then find I cant get out at the other end.

Understand that, I've not walked through the open gate by the boating pond before now because I didn't want to get to the deer park gate and find it locked. I'm not sure the order they lock them in. Although I'd be less bothered if I was on a bike and the main gate at the top was going to be open (it's not much of a detour and possibly worth the risk if you're looking to avoid the roads.) The main haul by the observatory is by far the nicest way up that slope, they seem to have got the gradient just right on it.
