The US seems to gave a higher level of coverage of HRH and family than we gave here, regardless of whether or not the National Enquirer is writing truthfully

We were in the states around the time the D of C was up the duff and suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum. In a reasonably posh shop we got asked "how's Kate?". Of course we laughed about how stupid Americans think that everybody in the UK knows or cares about the royals. Ironically enough, over this festive period I have actually been updated as to the health of the queen, so I guess it wasn't such an unreasonable question after all.

It's incredible the number of "World exclusives" they manage to cram into every edition. Outrageous that such incredible investigative journalism is always overlooked by the Pulitzer committee.

Why? Things will carry on. There will be a National holiday for the day of the funeral, that's it. The funeral might be set for a Saturday anyway so as to not have to shut the stock market for 8 hours "Wiping BILLIONS of the value of our pensions".

Mourning yes but national holiday or days off at most 1 if you are lucky

12 days would destroy an awful lot of business's

Doing a bit of historical investigation, it seems monarchs generally don't last forever.

They last quite a while though. That Richard bloke got dug up after hundreds of years. I guess they don't live any longer than the rest of us though
