Myself and another local cyclist used to do a monthly column with a cycling theme for our local newspaper.
This was so popular {and full of nonsense} that many people bought it purely for a good laugh at our antics. Unfortunately the editor left and nobody else was willing to take on the commitment so the paper was taken over by a rival who regarded everything too seriously and would not use our stuff even tho' it was popular. We did not get paid for this but it was good fun for a few years.
