Got a blockage, help!

Last week, I was able to watch video clips etc online, no problem - since Sunday, I get a message to say 'you need flash player to watch this' - where did it go?

Then, when I have disabled my pop-up blocker and phishing filter, and try to upload a newer flash player, it won't work.

I get the first message, 'do you want to run or save this file' and I click on 'run'.
Then, I get the box which says 'do you want to run this software?' and I click 'run'.
Lastly, I get 'do you want to allow the program to make changes to the computer' but when I click 'allow', it closes, as though I have said 'don't allow'

What else have I not diabled

Restart the pc, it's the equivalent of thumping it on the side.

Is it windows 7 or visa. If it is then maybe User Access Control has been switched on.

Instead of selecting 'Run', choose 'Save' and save the file onto your desktop. I suspect it may be the setup program for Flash that you describe.

If it is, then double click it once it has downloaded and run it from there, it will reinstall Flash and may get you a bit further than you have been getting. If it still fails, it may give you a better error to report back.

Try a system restore back to Sunday or before.

Sorry not to have replied sooner - I posted this in Cafe, hoping someone would see it more quickly...then it had just 'disappeared'...I didn't know where to.
