Got a job !!!!

Phew it's tough out there.
Made redundant early in August, i was beginning to wonder if it was all going pear shaped on the grounds i'm not a time served maintenance engineer, but do have really indepth experience in specific packaging machinery, experience that's took me abroard many times.

Not being time served meant i was on the back foot...offered jobs at ludicrously low money so i held out for as long as i could, but higher paid jobs inevitably went to time served guys.
So, ive got a 6 month contract, good wages, nice company, should continue to permanent with a company doing more or less exactly what i was doing, they're one of my old companies competitors.

Excellent stuff...i'm really excited to get in there on Monday. AND they do cyclescheme (is that the right term?)

It'll be good to get my hulking toolbox out of the shed. Might be able to get the bikes in a bit easier.

Downsides ? it's 20 plus miles away, so i'll spend lots more of fuel than i have for a long time, but there you go.

Down the dole office tomorrow, see how i sign off.

Signing off is only slightly complicated.

You have to inform your personal contact (if you have one) and then notify the local head office to confirm that you wish to cease claiming. They then update the computerised records that the claim is ceasing.

Usually it just takes a phone call.
