What Planet is the idiot living on? when will folk realise these aren't 'Tom & Jerry' moments, this is the real world and their pranks can have serious consequences.

Do you think you put the dent in his bumper? Hope so.

A while back I bumped a car on Skerton Bridge while driving as they had no brake lights. They didn't stop either.

+1.

I think you have to report this gaz as the dent in his rear bumper suggests he's done it before.

Glad your okay though.

What a complete twonk. I'd agree that he might not have noticed if it hadn't been obviously deliberate. This is Dangerous Driving, and the police definitely need to prosecute.

Well done for keeping control of your bike and person above all else - having to decelerate from 21mph to 6mph in three seconds is a lot of brake power!

I've had close overtakes myself - we all get them - but that's a scary one. Even more so because the driver seems to have no 'justification' - the road has three lanes of forward traffic and he could have just stayed where he was. He was about to turn left, but that was a long way further on from your video. OK so perhaps he wanted to allow the following red van to overtake him, but is showing 'courtesy' to another road user a reason for nearly killing or injuring someone?

Let this person try that manoeuvre again - but this time on a motorway, and this time let it be a 44 ton HGV that he overtakes, rather than a cyclist! And after overtaking the HGV doing 60mph, let him pull in sharply on it and immediately slow down to 20mph. Then see what happens!

Brake light in the middle is working.

The way he brakes even harder, makes me think he was distracted, phone maybe.

It makes me wonder seeing as the first overtake was ok (from the rear view camera if you see what I mean)....then not actually left hooking the other cyclist at the left turn whereas a few drivers would have done.

Oh i know, very good driving from that point of view. but on the other hand cutting me up when he pulled in front, and slamming on his brakes when his lights didn't work.

I'd have thumped the back of his car... then said "Pull over - this is a citizens arrest for driving without due care...."

I like the stats (speed, rpm, etc) on your video... awesome!

"The highways are crowded with people who drive as if their sole purpose in getting behind the wheel is to avenge every wrong ever done them by man, beast, or fate.

The only thing that keeps them in line is their own fear of death, jail and lawsuits...which are much less likely if they can find a motorcycle to challenge instead of another two thousand pound car or a concrete abutment. A motorcyclist has to drive [sic] as though everybody else on the road is out to kill him. A few of them are, and many of those who aren't are just as dangerous - because the only thing that can alter their careless, ingrained driving habits is a threat of punishment, either legal or physical, and there is nothing about a motorcycle to threaten any man in a car.

A bike is totally vulnerable; its only defence is manoeuvrability, and every accident situation is potentially fatal"

That could have been nasty, thankfully it wasn't. First bit was a complete lack of planning & situational awareness then the next was either malicious or further continuation of the non-existent situational awareness trying to work out why there was someone shouting 'Oi!'.

I try not to shout out when the situation is unfolding as most of the time people have little idea what they're actually doing & when you shout at them brake to work out what's going on.
