Out on my Sunday ride just about to do the final mile was waiting at a fairly open junction, guy cuts the corner and bumps my front wheel pushing me backwards, still not sure how I didn't go over.

Doesn't stop, someone else chases him down and I check my bike out and cycle down where he's waiting.

Seemed okay got his reg and details and he was apologetic, didn't realise he hit me admitted cutting the corner. Didn't have my camera on.

Bike seems fine, I am fine, report or not?

If you are satisfied it was an accident, and you are certain your bike is OK, I personally wouldn't report it. The police wouldn't want to know anyway. Let him know though that you are reserving the right to come back if unseen damage comes to light in the next few days.

If you are fine, and the bike is fine, the police can't record it as a road traffic collision, as that requires injury or damage.

Careless driving is also non recordable, and in the example given CPS would be very unlikely to pursue. You may, if you get a decent force, get an officer to go round and say 'take more care next time', but to be honest even that's unlikely - and I'm presuming you would have said something similar to him!

I wouldn't suggest reporting that one.

Give the bike a thorough check over. I had a small collision last year. The bloke was apologetic and the bike seemed fine, so I just rode off. Then when I got to work and checked my bike over, there were two broken spokes in the rear wheel.

Same for your actual self, adrenaline released post-crash makes you feel 'fine', I guess so that theoretically you don't feel like you want to just lay down and get eaten by a leopard. When it wears off, you might ache all over, or realise you've actually fractured an arm or something. Definitely wouldn't try to judge damages at the scene, don't know whether you did or not though.

As CopperCyclist said the police will do little. If you were injured I would say report just for statistical purposes. That's what I did with my recent prang.
